Snow!

It never snows in Okinawa but that doesn`t mean you can`t have a snowman shipped down from Hokkaido. In fact, this is exactly what happened one fine day in January this year. I went to pick up the kids at the bus stop downstairs and noticed there was an excited buzz going through the crowd of mothers and children. Then I saw this:

What could it be? You guessed it, a SNOWMAN! One of the children`s grandfather had sent it down from Hokkaido so that his grandson could "remember" Hokkaido.

I frequently feel like I live in another dimension, not just another country.

Was it made out of real snow? That is wild! What a cool grandpa. The kids must have been so excited! Mine were so dissapointed by the almost no snow winter we had here this year. It was our first year in snow country and they only got to slap together a snow man twice and then their snowmen melted before the sun set the same day they were made! The locals all say it was the weirdest winter they've had. . . at least I lucked out and had no snow shoveling to do this past year!

Oh yes, it is real snow. The first picture shows the shipping container the snowman came in and the second picture shows the actual snowman. It was fun and the kids really really loved it!

That is too cool- but I still remain convinced that real snowmen have three balls.

that is so cool. I am still in awe. How much did the Grandfather have to pay for it, did you find out?
